Curator’s note: The Disclight Foxtrot is an eye-catching lighting installation with a sensual dose of rock-n-roll attitude that heightens the senses.
This piece having already been exhibited in the shop of the Benaki Museum is considered as a modern iconic through its thoughtful conception, coupled with the masterful interplay of light over form.
A vintage turntable’s needle illuminates the vinyl record with the corresponding fox trot songs. More specifically, the illumination is emitted both around the perimeter of the vinyl disc, plus from the needle, illuminating the subject of the disc. The LED strip behind the turntable emits a distinctive halo of bright light.
➞ Technical support for assembling and setting the lighting work is recommended.
The multi-sensory and fascinating aesthetics of the present subversive work has been highly appreciated by the artistic cycle and is to be found in private collections, ‘lighting up’ with music allusions private spaces and sharing with them its inspiring design story.
Whether it is fitted behind a DJ booth or in a residence’s living room, the Disclight Foxtrot from the Roumelight collection exhales the energy of music and brings so much joie de vivre to a space enhancing powerful ever-captivating appeal and fascination.
